Squarespace web design for North East businesses

I'm Charlie, a Squarespace website designer based in County Durham. I design and build Squarespace websites for businesses in Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland and across the North East: sites that look right, read clearly and make it easy for the right person to get in touch.

Why I build on Squarespace

Most small businesses don't need a custom-coded website. They need a good one they can look after themselves. That's why, whether it's website design in Durham or a new site for a Newcastle firm, I design and build on Squarespace.

01

You can edit it yourself

Change a price, add a photo or write a new page in the Squarespace editor, without paying a developer every time.

02

Hosting and security handled

Hosting, SSL certificates and platform updates come with your Squarespace plan, so there are no plugins to patch.

03

Looks good on phones

Squarespace sites are responsive, and I design and test every page on mobile as well as desktop.

What's included and how it works

A site's job isn't to win awards. It's to make the right person do the right thing without thinking about it. Every page is laid out for how people actually read: what they see first, what makes them scroll, and what gets them to pick up the phone or fill in the form.

  1. Structure and wireframesWhat goes where, and in what order, before anything gets styled.
  2. Visual designFull page designs built on your brand, for desktop and mobile.
  3. Copy directionGuidance on headlines and hierarchy so the words pull their weight.
  4. Build and launchBuilt in Squarespace, tested across devices and shipped live.

Website design sits in my Bespoke package, quoted per project: you get one fixed figure in writing before anything starts. See my prices and everything I do.

Websites I've designed

Web design is usually part of a bigger job: a new logo, a leaflet or a van, with a website that carries the same thinking. A few recent projects from my portfolio:

  • Gosforth RoofingA Newcastle roofing firm: leaflet and website, with services up front and a free quote one tap away.
  • NE ValetingMobile valeting in Newcastle and Tyne and Wear: a website matched to the business cards rather than bolted on afterwards.
  • ADL ConsultancyA logo refresh and a website that leads with the standards they support and one clear ask.
  • Punt Caravan ParkingLogo, stickers and a website built around storage, servicing and getting there.
  • Global Outdoor DesignA driveway and patio firm near Ferryhill: full rebrand and website.
  • KSL Commercial CleaningIdentity, livery and uniform, with a modern website direction.

Need the brand as well as the site? I also do logo design in Newcastle and Durham, and there's more on websites and branding on the blog.

Squarespace web design FAQs

How much does a Squarespace website cost?

Website design is part of my Bespoke package, which is quoted per project. You get one fixed figure in writing before anything starts. Your Squarespace plan is paid separately, direct to Squarespace.

How long does a Squarespace website take?

Typically 4 to 8 weeks, depending on how many pages you need and whether your brand is already in place.

Can I update my website myself after launch?

Yes. That's the main reason I build on Squarespace. You can edit your own pages after launch without paying a developer.

Do you only work with businesses in Newcastle and Durham?

No. I'm based in County Durham and do a lot of web design in Durham, Newcastle and the North East, but I work as a Squarespace designer for UK businesses wherever they are.

Who will I be dealing with?

Me. Every project is run start to finish by me, so you deal with the person doing the work.

Need a website that does a job?

Tell me what your business does and what you want the site to achieve. I'll come back within one working day with next steps.
