Cookie policy
The cookies and similar storage this site uses, what each one is for and how to switch them off.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. “Local storage” does a similar job. Some are needed for a site to work; others help the owner see how the site is used.
Cookies on this site
| Type | Set by | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Squarespace | Keeping the site secure, loading it reliably and remembering your cookie choices. These can’t be switched off. |
| Analytics | Squarespace | Counting visits and seeing which pages are read, in general terms. Only set once you accept them in the cookie banner. |
| Local storage | This site (the Brand Lab) | Keeping your name generator brief and list in your browser so they are there when you come back. Nothing is sent to me. |
Squarespace publishes the full list of cookies it uses, with their names and how long they last, in its help centre.
Other services
The fonts on this site come from Google Fonts. Google doesn’t set cookies for this, but your browser does send your IP address to Google to download the fonts.
Links to Instagram, LinkedIn and other sites only take you there if you click them. Once you’re on another site, its own cookie policy applies.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics cookies in the banner when you first visit, and change your mind later by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones may stop parts of the site working.
More about your information
How I handle personal information in general is set out in the privacy policy.
